Converting currency

Heard from many sources to take English money out to snowy Borovets. Does anyone who's recently come back know what kind of rate you can get out there?

re: Converting currency

best to use the banks or the hotels, even though the hotels dont give a great rate. Dont be tempted to use the street booths as they will rip you off. The rate they give is not the rate advertised.

re: Converting currency

Ive just got back from boro, was getting 2.74Lv from the guys on the street. If you use them, be sure to ask them what rate u will get, then borrow their calculator and work out how much you should get, then double check it when they give it you back. Count it infront of them, as soon as you walk off the contract is made. No commission!

re: Converting currency

I got 2.72 Lev to the £ with no commision @ Marks & Spencer foreign exchange counter in their Manchester city centre store last weekend. That sounds pretty close to the best rates in the resorts.

You can check out their website for a list of stores that have exchange facilities: http://www2.marksandspencer.com/stores/results.asp?Productrange=3
