Cross Country Skiing

Have any of you readers tried cross country skiing?
Where? Has anyone tried it in Pamporovo?
Being a budget skier and having been to pamps a good number of times I fancy trying cross country but not sure how fit you need to be or if would get a little boring .
Idealy I would like to do a bit of both any suggestions on arranging such would be appreciated as all hol companies seem to have a choise of one or the other.

re: Cross Country Skiing

it is great. i am an avid skiier who has had a leg injury (acl avulsion) and find cross country skiing a great way of staying in shape. you get a better work out from it and it is also less expensive. it is more social then down hill skiing too and almost anyone can do it.
hope this helps

I am also going to do it in Pamps at Xmas this year (I'm not able to do downhill any more) - I have booked the pack but the only problem is I will be on my own so will probably book lessons (though it is not ...
Hi - I did a couple of days cross country in Borovets last year - great fun - we went off through the forest on and made our own tracks - there was nobody else around so you get away from the crowded pistes. It is quite strenuous so to get the most out of it you need to get fit first. I am also going to do it in Pamps at Xmas this year (I'm not able to do downhill any more) - I have booked the pack but the only problem is I will be on my own so will probably book lessons (though it is not really necessary) as I don't want to set off alone (no sense of direction at the best of times ). I'd like to try snowshoe walking as well - does anyone have any info about this? Sad
