Cross Country ski

Hi All.
Never tried Cross Country skiing ,anybody on here tried?Whats it like?
Done downhil but my current partner never skied before and wants to take it easy.
I would like to know where I can get the necessary equipment along with a few lessons inclusive of a lift pass.I know Balkan do a 'package' for Pamps including a 6 lift tickets, does a ticket last for a day?or just one ride?
What about other resorts what do they offer.?
All the big companies seem not inerested in XC?with no packs ...

Any help would be appreciated.

re: Cross Country ski

I'm interested in XC too - we are staying in Borovets from 5 Jan for a week. I'd be grateful for any info if anyone has any - where to hire equipment, lessons etc.
Thanks Smile

re: Cross Country ski

never done it in Bulgaria, but when last in Borovets appeared to be no prepared tracks so probably not the place to learn. There is a small area of track in Bansko (which looks flattish), and I think Pamporovo has the most length of routes.
Bulgarias probably a cheap place to try it out, but probably a better experience to be had in dolomites (like Dobbiaco in Italy) with lovely scenery, but would cost >£1000 and Norway even more expensive.

re: Cross Country ski

Cross country ski lessons / tour is supported by Peter at Interski down at ski station 2 in Pamps. Go to the White Dog tav and you will find him in there - His ski lockers are underneath the tavern.

I know he took a group out a couple of days ago from the UK so.
