oh heck, that's not good news. What are the options for independent flights to BG?

There are no flights from Dublin to BG. They have to find a connecting flight. Some use France, Uk Germany etc etc. It is very difficult for Irish to get to Bulgaria now.

The connecting flights from Stansted to Dublin on the return leg look ok. Depart Plovdiv 12:05, arrive Stansted 13:30 then connections to Dublin at 15:05 or 20:15

http://plovdivairport.com/_files/STNSa.jpg for Saturday flights and

Going out to BG it would probably mean a stop over ...

Not good news at all really for the Irish or for Bulgaria

re: Crystalski withdraw Bulgaria for 2012/13

I have flown from Ireland to Bulgaria a few times. Previously I used Ryanair to Frankfurt Hahn and Wizz Air to Sofia but they have changed the schedule and that now means overnight stopover on both legs of the journey. Now, I am flying with AirFrance from Dublin and it works out o.k. Only 1 or 2 hours stopover in France and arrive in Sofia the same day. A bit of a pain in the neck that there isn't a direct flight but we get there in the end and it's worth it.

Perhaps we should all bombard them with e-mails along the same lines.

Supply and demand rule.nothing else.
I know of a lot of Irish skiers having relatives there which find it less hastle to go south to the Alps and Get what's on the label and more.
The Irish NOW wanting to go to BG are the ones which bought something in the peak of the bubble ,now regreting it but stuck for considerable time in the future and trying to use it somehow before the wear and tear take its toll.

I flew EasyJet Belfast > Gatwick then Gatwick > Sofia which is handy for Borovets or Bankso

flights were cheap in March £150 for both legs return

plus I didn't need an overnight stay, only 2-3 hour wait at Gatwick for connection

Where there's a will there's a way
Cool

Its always more fun booking independently anyhow, who needs the tour operators .....
