Currency Rate

Hi,

There is 7 of us going skiing on the 11th March to Borovet and are a bit confused on whether to change sterling there or in the UK.

Could someone tell me what rate I would get out there for changing GBP to LEV. Travelex are giving 2.7311 LEV to 1GBP.

re: Currency Rate

You get about 175 to 180 that was in pamps in jan...Its hard to spend money out there but easy to change money so i would take £50 in lev's to get you through the first couple of days then change the cash as you need it..Also hole in the wall are pretty handy...

Regards

re: Currency Rate

That rate is about as good as you will get! If ya changing money in Borovets, make sure your notes (sterling) are clean & undamaged. Cash machines and hotels all about the 2.7 to the £ ...
Enjoy!

re: Currency Rate

GEt it from travelex.

If not, watch that you get the full amount when changing it out there. Make sure you ask the teller to count it out SLOWLY infront of you. We had experiences of them trying to shorthand us by leaving out a few notes! when we questioned it they were not prepared to deal at the rate they advertised!

Be careful

Take care

re: Currency Rate

I took 50 quid in Lev to keep me going for the first few days and took the rest in Sterling. The bank on the basement floor of the Samakov hotel, Borovets was offering 2.8 last week, it lowered a bit by the end of the week. They are open from 9.30am-4.30pm mon-fri I think. The hotel reception rates are lower. We did change money with the owner of Falcons bar at 2.8, he was an honest bloke but I have heard stories of people being ripped off.
