Currency advice

I am going to borovets in Feb with some friends from work and are we unsure what the best currency to take with us will be. Can we just take our debit cards and use cash machines or should we take travellers cheques or cash? Pounds or dollars. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can get Levs from good travel agents or some banks (LLoyds), the exchange rate is not always good though. Do not bring travellers cheques, just cash in sterling but not scottish notes. They must also be good note with no writing on them. You can use the ATM's in Borovets but remember you will be charged by your bank. I hope you love it as much as I do. Have fun.

you do not have to worry about that- there are cash macines, and it is easy to change anywhere you go!

The currency for bulgaris is still the lev, the ski instructors like iwther sterling or dollars as their tips. wouldn't just count on cash machines as they may be out of action,
if you decide to change your currecny out there be carefull of the rate and make sure you know how much to expect back, sometimes they give you less than they should and keep the rest

Stick to Levs and Sterling this take Dollar thing is a load of Bs. Do you really want to spend your entire holiday converting from lev to dollar to sterling?????
