Hi-I am not sure if many people know (except regulars of course), but the Bulgarian Lev is pegged to the Euro at about 1.954 for a Euro. At the moment the pound/Euro rate is pretty good, so those that want to take a punt that the rate may drop a bit (as it often does) could actually buy some Euro's here in UK---this way if the rate does drop, because the Lev is fixed at the same rate always, you would actually gain. For example today I bought some Euros at Thompson at a rate of 1.284 (this ...

At the moment the pound/Euro rate is pretty good, so those that want to take a punt that the rate may drop a bit (as it often does) could actually buy some Euro's here in UK---this way if the rate does drop, because the Lev is fixed at the same rate always, you would actually gain. For example today I bought some Euros at Thompson at a rate of 1.284 (this is the same as 2.50 leva to a pound. This way, even if the pound rate drops I would still get 2.50 leva in Bulgaria......of course the pound could continue to strengthen in which case I would lose out a bit.....I hope this made sense.
