Currency

I'm heading to Pamporovo tomorrow. I am a bit confused about which currency to take. Some people are saying sterling, others euro, other the Bulgarian Lev. Could someone tell me what they recommend? Also, what about credit cards? I've heard that it is best to use cash.
Thanks

re: Currency

Ive got my levs already. I think most people would say take £ and get it changed over there, but as Im a 1st timer, I want to make sure Ive got it (u get a better rate over there)
If I go back, I'll prob take the £ and change over there

re: Currency

Dont take euros you can't spend them in bars etc. If you haven't got your levs yet you will struggle to get any now apart from at the airport where you will get a crap rate.

If you are flying to Sofia I think you might be able get some at the airport there, depending on what time you arrive.

You can get money from the supermarket next to the White Hart with your credit card/debit card and passport.

re: Currency

post office usually have a good stock in (wont need to order) 2.69 rate - not best!
if u can get to marks and spencers, they offer about 2.85

re: Currency

Yeah I got a load from Marks and Sparks - they seemed to have a reasonable stock of them.
