Currency

Arrive in Borovets next sat - been told to take US dollars cash - where's the best place to exchange money out there - hotels/Exchange places - anyone know the rates and commission charged - are you fine with UK cash?

Cheers guys

re: Currency

Si

From what I understand and have read on here you are best with UK cash, and that is very much acceptable in Bulgaria - so why change your currency twice???

It is currently aroun 2.8BGN to 1GBP - but in resort there appears to be a 'range' of exchange rates on offer. Cash machine's also seem to accept the UK switch cards with the maestro logo

Hope this helps

re: Currency

Ive found that stirling is the easiest to take, both hotels I have stayed in have had exchange facilities and did not charge for exchanging it.
Have fun next week! Booze

re: Currency

You will get a slightly better rate from instructors, bar staff etc, but don't ever change with a stranger on the street, as they WILL rip you off.

re: Currency

I got 2.5 from hotel
2.6 from the bank
2.7 from a trusted bar staff
2.8 from my switch card (IF) - hole in the wall opposite white heart.
