re: Currency

Search through messages like this that are posted daily, but, if I may bullet point...

- Take sterling (clean and crisp) and a cash card to use in machines.
- Only change at reputable places such as the hotel, or withdraw cash with card
- Bulgara is cheap (well done)
- They have both food and drink. (only joking, food is fine, try local dishes such as kavarma and don't expect food to be that hot, Bulgarians prefer warm food)

To add to the above, we found last year in Pamps that travellors cheques (as recommended by our travel agent as a necessity becuase of theft at the airport) were a real nuisance and a total waste of time. THere was one or perhaps two places to cash them, which were only open when we were on the slopes. I ended up bringing mine back uncashed and getting money out of the ATM.

re: Currency

be careful on the slopes the little kiosks to change money. The swindle you. The hotels do 2.50 leve to the £1 but we found the bank inthe perilic hotel does 2.80 to the £1 so better.

Take a few Levs but they are quite happy to take sterling. So take a bit of both! Don't know any places but trust me, the Hot Chocolates good!
