Just to let you know, that Husky Blue is coming along just fine. She has really grown now and has had all her jabs.

We let her off the lead for the first time this weekend over the fields, and in spite of all the warnings that Huskies run away, she was as good as gold.

She already sits when told, shakes her paws, and the indoor accidents are getting fewer.

Took her to a puppy party at the vets last week..... what a riot

9 puppies going mad for 2 hours!!!!!!! Great fun.

Caz, I don't know how old Daz is, but I have 3 kids, now 11, 13 & 14.

I can (despite their reputation) thoroughly recommend Jack Russell Terriers (or as we like to call them Jack Rascal Terrorists!) We got our first one about 4 years ago and our second 2 years ago. They actually think they are children, and get very upset if they are not allowed out with the kids when they have their friends over (only because they burst the footballs!).

If u check out their parents, (do not get them from gypsys, travellers etc) they are fantatistic little people (whoops I mean dogs) & will provide you with hours of fun. (In hindsite, I should have had less kids and more dogs!!!!!)

If you don''t like the thought of "ratters", my friend who was getting a first dog, and at the time had very young children, called the kennel club and was recommended to get Staffordshire Bull Terriers. Although they seem to have a bit of a "hard" reputation, they are also apparantly fantastic with kids!

If you are thinking of a larger dog, my brother has 2 very young children and has a golden labrador - say no more - just be prepared for a very old puppy and constant exercise!
