www.accuweather.com seems to have the longest range forecast i can find. it may not be perfect but it gives me hope that i will not just be skiing on the snow that is already down when i go on the 19th of Jan!
This dry spel has been a serious waste of Siberian winds!
j2ski.com seems to be over optimistic about the amount of snow that will fall in pamps and seems to be biased against Bansko, maybe the owner of the site only has apartments in Borovets and Pamps!
so basically they arent sure but theres always a chance!!!!! from your experience if the weather stay around freezing will there still be good skiing conditions on the 1st january, thats when i get there
i think you will have good conditions on the 1st, there is a good base and it does not look like it will thaw and there should be at least a light dusting of new snow to keep things fresh!
personally i have never skiied in good conditions, only high altitude spring conditions with solid ice in the morning and heavy slush in the afternoon, thats why we are going on the 19th of Jan, which should in theory be the coldest time of the year (touching wood) (not mine)
Except for a dusting of snow around the eastern edge of Bulgaria tommorrow morning I can't see any further precipitation for the next week or so but some weather sites are predicting some around christmas day.
