Distance - Hotel Rila & Main Gondola

Hi, we are staying at the Hotel Rila at half term (11th Feb) and I know it is in a great location for ski school. However how far is it to the main gondola, walking distance, or hop on a bus? Does ski school use this area or do they stay on the slopes near Hotel Rila. Cheers.

Thanks Andyp, one more question. If I go off and ski by myself (my kids and hubby are first timers and are in ski school!). If I use the gondola and the runs in that area will I have time to meet up by lunch time, back at the Rila, or am I being too optimistic, maybe better to meet at the end of the day? Thanks.

We went last year, I was in ski school, boys and hubby skied on their own, we didn't meet at lunchtime as I never knew in advance where I would be with my group as the instructor took us to a different place to eat each day - we met up at about 3.30 each day or passed each other on chairlifts etc. it was a great holiday we're going back after half time - have a good time.

By the middle of the week hubby and kids will also be up the top as there are some good slopes there for beginners. Arrange to meet those days - you can't miss each other and if you do don't waste time worrying and looking for them!

Are you skiing on your own? You may also be able to meet them on the slopes too - my husband and I swopped around in the group a bit so that we both got a bit of time with the children. As I've said befor the instructors are very flexible.

Hope ...
