My advice would be to take strapping, but to be honest i found that as your ankles are locked into the boots this was plenty of support for me and i only felt twinges in the evenings. The only thing you'll have to worry about and be careful on in borovets is the icy road between the rila hotel and the gondola station. Hope this puts your mind at rest.

Thanks Ross

Ha Ha thinking about it I managed to fall and hit my head last year before I had even got on any skis, as soon as I got off the coach infact!! Very embarassing, so I will bear your advice re the icy roads in mind!!
