Dodgy snow report?

Just got back from a week in Pamprovo..

Snow on first day (Monday) was excellent. Deep, fresh and well groomed.

Snow on second day was also good but begining to get a bit icy mid afternoon

Snow on third day was pretty thin. Large icy patches on long green and blues.

Snow on fourth day (to my inexperienced eyes) was poor. Some snow but lots of ice..also rocks, roots and branches in middle of piste

Fifth day, It snowed Very Happy cover was better at lunch but by 4pm on my last run it ...

Anyway, still had a good time, but throughout the week the snow report on this site said skiing conditions were good, and that snow cover was 40cm!

Well dodgy! Or is ice and roots considered good, and can you take the 40cm mesurement from untouched forest?
