We visited Borovets this year and are returning next year, this time staying in Yagoda Chalets. Last year we had to pick up our hire skis from in front of the Rila which is where we stayed. Does anyone know where we pick up our skis while staying in Yagoda, as it will be a big trek every day to the Rila and back to the gondola.
Can't wait to go back on the 24th jan, we are all excited already!!!
We stayed at the Yagoda last year and were travelling with Inghams. We picked up and returned our skis to the depot underneath the Gondola station. Others in our class staying at town hotels got theirs from the Rila Depot which our instructor made as our meeting point. Unfortunately we rarely avoided the trek up the high street each morning and evening!!
The blokes working in the depot were as miserable as sin and we had great fun each day trying to make them laugh.
hello i stayed in the rila when i went two years ago.
i have decided to visit again this year with my friends.
we are also staying at the yagoda village and was wondering where we would pick our ski's up ! i thought it would be outside the rila as the last time.
where is the gondala station and was it better for you to pick them up there?
did you like yagoda village?
would you go again?
If you do a search at the top of this page for Yagoda Village and for all dates you will find my comments from last year.
We had a great time but to be honest, with 2 small children it wasn't ideal for us being so out of town. We are going back this year but this time we are staying at the Alpin Hotel.
Borovets is great fun and we are sure you will really enjoy it.
Hey, I was just wondering... would it be worthy to bring my own equipment from the US or just use the rental service there (Borovets). How much did you guys pay last time you were there?
We paid roughly the same prices as advertised on this site. It is very important that you buy your ski pass before travelling because they cost a fortune once on holiday. Rental prices we understood were fairly standard pre purchased or in resort. We paid about £90 each which included boots, skis, poles, ski pass and tuition.
