levs or sterling
change either in UK or in Borovets at the bank machines or hotel receptions
if you change money there make sure the notes are clean and not torn or written on but in good condition
Thanks. So we need to bring cash for the whole trip or we will be able to pull some out of a machine? I take it you get better rates in th resorts than in London.
yes the rates are better in the resort usually it seems,
you can take some levs with you when you come and then change the rest in the resort.
warning some poeple say they get ripped off from the little huts out in the street that change money and other peeps say thay have got a great deal, so up to you but i have always been happy with changing it at reception in the hotel or before i go
Just back from borovets. I took levs with me from marks and spencer, the rate was 270 to the £. I also took cash to exchange and the rate was also 270. My friend took cash out of the cash machine in the Rila lobby no problems, don't know what the charge is for this but I think there is a small fee!!
I never take Lev - just credit card (for emergencies) and cash card - there are cash machines there. They charge a couple of quid per transaction and the exchange rate is about 270
