E111 and EHIC....euro health card

I called them on Tuesday, took 1 minute on telephone and recieved card through the door yesterday
. A lot faster than i had anticipated

Are you covered if you have applied but not recieved your card??

Applied yesterday and travel to Italy tomorrow, so no chance of it arriving before i go

i think if you give them a call , they should be able to issue you with yor number. Just a note, it does replace, nor should it replace your holiday insurance.......just useful to have

The point of it is that it covers 1/3 of your medical expenses. Travel Ins. covers 2/3 up to the dependant limit. So in theory, your fully covered if you have both.

just called EHIC on 08456050707 and they give you an emergency telephone number, they register you immediatly and send the card. have your ni number ready. hope this helps.
