EXCHANGE RATES

Hello again,
Can anyone help us decide whether to take only lev or a mixture of euro and lev or sterling and lev.
The exchange rate her is approx 1.618 lev to the pound. does anyone jnow what the exchange rate is in borovets,

exchange rate in Boro is 2.6-2.7 lev to the pound. It is very easy to find somewhere to change money as virtually all hotels offer money exchange. I took some Lev that I got in the airport but I needn't have bothered. Don't change your sterling to Euros as there is no need.

I've heard it's better to change it here..... but any further info would be good as I'm changing mine on Thursday

Are you sure you don't mean 2.618 to the pound. If you have been offered 1.618, don't touch it.

Hiya,

Various earlier postings have said bout 2.7 - 2.8 Lev to pound (I assume that ya meant 2.6, not 1.6).
I would suggest taking a few Lev out with ya, as most people dont arrive till late at nite, and this way ya have some beer vouchers ready to spend that night and the next day, rather than spend ya first day queuing to change money!

yes I do mean 2.168 to the pound, I was having a senior moment.Or as my kids think I am having a mid life crisis going snowboarding for the first time at my age.

Marks and spencers have commision free exchange - todays rate is 2.668
This is not a "held" currency and is a special order which takes about a week.
Although I think they do a postal service for an additional £ 5.00
Im gonna take stg eq of about £ 50.00 and change the rest over there.

I changed some this week just to get me started from Lloyds, got rate of 2.657 with no commission. Hubby got about the same from Barclays, ordered his one day and collected the next! Not alot in it unless you want to change 1000s I guess.

I have used Mark and sparks before. Always a great rate but you have to have one of their store cards unfortunately I binned mine. Luckily my daughter works for thompsons so haggling over the rate at present. But it seems better to change sterling in the resort.

better rate in boro,however get 20 quids worth before u go for little things like a drink etc the bulgi's love pound notes make sure they are as clean ad uncreased as poss or they may reject them.
