Just in case I'm in need of a quiet night (only the one!) ,and all those party goers are coming in at crazy times. Can anyone reccommend any really good earplugs?. I actually work shifts and I have tried the spongy ones, which don't do the trick, also the wax ones which still don't block the noise out. I saw some plastic ones today, but the very un-helpful assistant couldn't tell me if they were any good or not.
Anyone out there with the solution?? Keep it polite please!
hi fiona,
I use the orange spongy 1,s.Found them to be the most comfortable and noise reducing ones, but may I make one more suggestion? They do work better if comsumed with few bottles of wine or other alchololic beverage.
Hope it works,
have a quite night,zzzzzzzz

We were woken up a couple of times in the Samokov - there are two solutions:
1. For general party noise outside, if you can't beat 'em join 'em and consume a reasonable amount yourself before retiring for the night.
2. For the real ignorant b*gg*rs who are noisy in their rooms / corridor at 3.00 am you need to make the effort to see which room they disappear into. Then between 7.00 am and 8.00 am when you are getting up for breakfast send the kids down to that part of the corridor and ...

Doesn't stop the noise at the time but makes you feel better - and everyone else you bump into at breakfast who suffered the same fate at 3.00am.
To be honest there wasn't really much of a problem this year in the Samokov, more so in the Rila last year. One call to reception tended to prompt the arrival of Bulgarian Bear type person dressed in black with a baton at their door which also did the trick.
Ha ha, thanks Bill. Maybe I'll pack my saxophone and play it down the corridoor on my way to breakfast. I'm teaching myself at the moment so I can guarantee to play it badly!
