Easier Off-Piste in Bansko

Fellow Bansko addicts,
After an enforced introduction to off-piste skiing in verbier in december I am now semi confident enough to try it in Bansko. Visiting with 4 mates early feb and think it would expand our skiing area. Is it worth hiring a guide for a day or is the off piste fairly limited ? I have read steve c and dave canski's reports of wrong turns with hours of walking in powder and do not want to end up lost ! We are all good/advanced intermediates. Any thoughts or advice welcome ...

re: Easier Off-Piste in Bansko

If with the right guide there is alot of good off piste .

You need fully off piste equipmet or its dangerous for you and your friends

Avalanche transciever, shovels pole etc
And make sure YOU ALL K OW HOW TO USE kit , no point haiving it if you dont k now how to use it .

AND although you should nokrmally carry id etc

Carry 2 emergency contact numbers , EU health card and copy of insurance ...in case the worst happens
