Easter Skiing

I was thinking about skiing in Bansco around the weekend of 8/9th or 15/16th April. However, I have only skied this late in the season in the Alps and I'm unsure whether the slopes will be open in Bansco and whether there will be enough snow.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

re: Easter Skiing

Bansko was skiing last season until May. It has a good base of snow at the moment so you should be ok.

Hi

Never been to bansko, only Pamporovo and Borovets. But I think the snow is not always good in Bulgaria, in april. The ski season is shorter than western Europe, most Uk tour operators finish end of March.

re: Easter Skiing

Last year they closed around 6 May although there was enough snow left for a couple of more days. A friend of mine was very upset by the early closure.
Winter has been quite cold so far, you have got a chance, but no guarantee

Cheers for the info guys, as long as the lift are open I'll probably take my chances on a last minute trip.

re: Easter Skiing

Hi Darryl, we're going from 9-16 April for a property inspection but intend to ski/board whilst we are there. A few locals I have met through the forums all confirm that the snow should still be good, especially on the high slopes... although you'll probably need a canoe at that time for the ski road!

Regards
