Am dreading asking this question cause I'm pretty sure it's a dump, but can anyone confirm if this is true of Edelweiss hotel?I won't be too put out if it is cause 'Sleeping is Cheating!!'

I stayed there last year and it was fine, pretty basic, but then all you need is a place to sleep. The downside was that you needed to catch the ski bus in the morning, so you miss out on a bit of a sleep in that you would get if you were staying in the resort.Its certainly not a dump, just basic and a bit dated. Better hope your not on the top floor though otherwise you'll have to drag your suitcase up 2 or 3 flights of stairs!

Stayed there a few years back ... clean, warm, hot water, balcony with huge icebergs and in a nice quiet area, although there's plenty of taxis/buses/horse and cartses (?) to take you up to the heart of the action.Food isn't brilliant, but that goes for most/all of the hotels.
Check out the big frozen fountain!

Our friends stayed at the Edelweiss in January this year. A lot of the hotel has been refurbished and the rooms are now quite modern if a bit small. Plenty of hot water and the downstairs bar is ok. Food ok but not a lot of atmosphere in the restaurant. A good 15 minute walk uphill into the centre of town but only 10 lev (£4) for a horse taxi for 4 people which takes about 3 minutes!! Walk back home at end of the day is downhill and after a few it didn't seem far at all!! ...
