Someone out there must surely have stayed at the Ela recently - what are the hotel/rooms like? 2 mad male Sassenachs, 1 female newbie-attempting to ski- aka 'lamb being led to slaughter' by mad Celtic female so-called pal going soon so any feed back welcome. Ta.
Came back yesterday, stayed at Ela, it's a family hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms OK. Beds are comfy but pillows are lousy. Showers are brilliant. Food is OK but luke warm but there is a microwave if you need to heat your food. Bar stays open 24 hours with lots of cocktails 2 for the price of 1 for about 4 or 5 hours a night. If you like playing cards take your own. I really enjoy staying here as it is quiet, and you can use the facilities of the Samakov across the road. ...

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. You said the pillows are 'lousy', hope you don't mean they're literally crawling with unwanted life Did you have anywhere in your room to plug in a kettle? I can go without food but can't live without gallons of tea/coffee - nothing better than an evening/night time/early morning cuppa after spending an extremely stressful day with the Mad Celt Fifi I'm sure she'll be pleased to know that the bar is open 24hrs a day, mind you, I might ...

Any other info you think might be useful will be appreciated.

Ta but I've searched till I'm blue in the face & can only find the same old pics of the rooms, maybe I want too much From Tracey's reply the hotel doesn't sound like a right dump so hopefully all will be well.
We stayed in the Ela two weeks ago. Apart from the food not being great we had no other complaints. Yes there are spare plugs for kettles, just remember to take your plug adaptor! On the subject of tea, I can't function without several cups of Tetley a day and there is only one place in Borovets that serves it. If you go to the street were Francos is about two doors up is a restaurant called The Den. Lovely staff, lovely hot chocolate and most importantly Tetley tea. We ate most ...

So I would recommend it.
Any other questions please ask and I will try and answer them for you
Hi Laura
Thanks for your comments & pleased to hear the only complaint you had was about the food not being great. A lot of people seem to agree that generally the food in the hotels isn't great but that doesn't sound too much of a problem as there have been plenty of recommendations of other places to eat. Typhoo is my tea of choice but I could live with Tetley & it's good to know there should be a spare socket to plug the kettle into. The hot chocolate sounds good.

Tracey said the pillows were lousy, how were yours - soft/hard/lumpy etc? If I think of anything else I'll post another message and ask. Ta again.
