Engaging holiday

Sorry it's taken so long, we've been mega busy since we got back.

We got back early Sunday morning from what I'm sure will be one of the best holidays we have had.
Firstly the niggles, just to give the whingers something to read.
The queues to get kitted out at the rila ski cave were horrendous, get there early to avoid them ( worth it though, the gear is brand new ).
The queue for the nursery slopes ( do the night skiing and avoid them ).
The skidoo taxis at the top of the mountain ...

The skidoo taxis at the top of the mountain ( they WILL hurt someone sooner or later at the speed they go !.......stay out of their way )

Can't think of anything else to moan about........
We met up with old friends from last year, and some new ones we've made this year. It has been a non stop laugh.

After meeting up with an old friend from last year, he took Lisa on in his class, and organised a good teacher for Robyn. She was initailly reluctant to go off on her own, but by the end of the week hade made loads of friends and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Just to go off on a slight tangent here, I didn't meet her instructor Ellie straight away, and when I went to see Robyn to give her some money for lunch one day, Ellie pounced on me not realising who I was. It was later that I worked out how reassuring this was. They really do keep an eye on them for you. The nursery slopes were as busy as I have ever seen them, so we just took it steady, then did the night skiing, to practice what we had learned.
The second day we went on the skidoo ride. The scenery is beautiful, and I can think of no more romantic place to ask someone to marry you. I did, and Lisa did me the honour of accepting Very Happy
We met up with Ellie, and her family. Ellies husband Simon was nice enough to take Robyn bumboarding for a while, giving us time for a chat. A new nickname for us both was discussed. Ellie came up with the suggestion "banknote" click here to see why.
We stayed in The Iglika, which hasn't changed much since I was there two years ago. The staff are friendly, and the food edible (particularly if you're into eggs), but for what it costs to eat out have dinner somewhere else, go out for dinner. We frequented the bistro elenite. The two guys that run it, Ivan and Madjo (sorry about the spelling) are great guys. If you do pop in, try the local dish who's name I can't pronounce, but is called chicken in smoked cheese sauce..........yummmmmm!!!!!!!!!. The food in Franco's is delicious, although the night we ate there, they turned the music on after 3 mouthfulls, so that was the end of any conversation we were going to have, shame really, the dish I had was superb. As always the steak in Katy's is spot on !.
We enjoyed an excursion to another resort just up the road, and spent a fantastic day with the piste almost exclusively for us, if the slopes are busy in Borovets we cannot reccomend it enough. Lisa learnt more on this day, than she had for the previous three days, and I managed to have the fastest wipeout I've ever had (thats what you get when you show off in front of your new fiance).
I can't think of any other points, if anyones got any questions click the link on my
webpage
Do we think we'll go back????????....................We are already trying to book for christmas, and next half term!!!!

Phil Lisa Robyn

Ps, does anybody need to take me with them next week? I'm a big lad, and and can carry several pairs of skis at once, and I'm housetrained !!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

re: Engaging holiday

Banknote!!

I think that is better than Steffan Strombolov which doesn't roll off the tongue in quite the same way!!

You forgot to mention that Alister wiped Robyn out whilst bumboarding giving her a nasty bang on the head!! Must be something to do with Simon - he too A & R out on our last morning and Alister split his lip!!

Glad you had a good time and maybe see you at theget together or in 2005 Very Happy

Love

Ellie
