Hi Peeps!
Just wondering if there are places that hire out ski helmets, or is it worth bringing them out with us? Glad Boro has had a big dump as we're due to come and play in the white stuff next week!!!
Is Sunday the new Saturday night? If so, where?
See you next weeek and Top job Kas for the on going snow reps!!!
J&L!!!
Jay,
I wouldnt be too keen on hiring a helmet, the problem is you dont know if its had a big knock, and damage is not always apparent. I always take my own, although it takes up a fair space in the suitcase or bag if you pack it you can always fill it with clothing and pack round it to protect it. or carry it on the plane or in a rucksack.
we've got our own helmets!! as long as you're not just doing the hand luggage baggage route you'll be fine with carrying them . We've got one suitcase with 4 helmets, goggles and a few bits of clothes, but they take up loads of room. we reckoned it was worth it though. better to have your own and be safe!!
I'm not sure with this 'You dont know if its had a big knock' lark.
Can you be sure its not had a big knock before you bought it new in the shop? I've seen them being dropped inside the shops and land square on the top of the helmet. Also these helmets have probable been shipped halfway around the world before they get to the shops.
Also, when you put them in your suitcase, are you sure they havent taken a big knock by the time you get to your resort? Have you seen the way baggage is ...

I'm guessing that if it doesnt have any major visual defects, the helmet will be ok. Afterall there arent much more than a bit of plastic with a bit of polystyrene inside?
This knock lark is the manufacturers way of covering its own backside!!!
