Euro accepted?

Hey people
Just wondering could someone please tell me if they accept euro in Bulgaria or should i get it changed into lev before leaving.???

Hi Sinéad,

Last year was Lev only. Get ya money changed up before you go, OR use ATM to get Lev, OR change at hotel/proper bureaux de change - DONT USE THE GUY ON THE STREET! you will be ripped off/given fake notes etc!

getting money from ATM is best! Some exchange offices can rip u off as well if you don't read the signs carefully. Officially only LEVs are accepted. Even if some places accept Euro, the rate might not be good.

You can change Euros at the hotel receptions or at any bank. No problems.
