Hi, i'm heading to Pamporovo in a few days and just want to confirm that i can bring Euro there, the travel agent said fine, but i just want confirmation so im not stranded in Pamporovo with no money..
Yes you can bring it there but euro is not the currency, Lev is the currency but there is a number of places to change your currency, such as your hotel, although it may be worth checking out the exhcange rates for wherever your flying from first.
I know Lev is the currency, however i was told that Euro is accepted in most of the places in Pamporovo? Will it be ok to use Euro all the time or will i have to Exchange to Lev?
do as PP says....the good news is the Euro has a pretty much flat exchange rate as the Lev is pegged to the Euro at approx 1.95 leva/euro----use this rate as a benchmark.....meanwhile the pound fluctuates widely
Just take sterling and change it directly - even better to avoid getting ripped off just take a UK ATM card and directly access your UK account. You'll get a slightly worse rate but there are plenty of dodgy exchange bureaus in BG that can trip the unwary. Also you won't have to change sterling to euro to leva and incur two sets of currency exchange costs.
