I know Vicky was online last night asking about currency.....tonights money related question is ......Where is the best place to exchange our money once we get there?
I keep having recurring nightmares that I'll have all this English money and no way of buying a pint!!
I think the consensus of opinion is the hotel reception, and also the banks, depends on which resort you go to, as to availability of holes in the wall but as you have hard cash then either of the two options I am sure over the week you will find the best - NO - the person in the next room will have found the best exchange rate by miles and he tells you just as you are leaving the resort.
Not much help I know, but I would assume that there is not much difference between either.
Clare, hotel reception is the best place. Do not be tempted at Sofai/Plovdiv aiport as the rate is not very good. As john says make sure you have nice new clean notes. They can be a bit funny about changing used/torn notes. I always ask at the bank for nice new ones!
As Daniel says, at the airport they will be advertising amazing rates of exchange, but the small print says only when you change £1000 do you get this rate, you will end up with less than 2 levs to the £
Change £50 in the British airport then change the rest at your leasure when youve settled in. Dont change money on the street.
Hotel Reception or the Banks only.
or theres an ATM at the gondola lift 200lev at a time only but you can just put your card back in and get another 200lev
