Hi Jinny - sorry for late reply.

We booked through Balkan (belfast) -flight only - prices were £250 adults and £249 child. Yes you are correct it is nearly cheaper to book a package!
We had hoped Ryan air would have announced flights this year but it never happened, we really need a budget airline to make the trip more accesible and at a reasonable price. Also it means you could go for a long weekend as at present Balkan only offer the weekly flights. They charged us £10 for a return transfer which worked out roughly the same as a mini bus (11 of us going). I have looked at going with Easy jet Via Gatwick but the flights done always match up and it ends up more expensive as it involves an over night stay in a hotel. I have also looked at wizz air from Luton. You can go Via dublin with a stop over in prague or rome, this is a long journey as the flight only goes to sofia and not the closer airport of Plovidv. So basically you end of spending two days travelling there and back.
The journey from sofia if you hire a car is apparentely
very straightforward though?

So far now, Balkan is our only option, but I dont mind as I love Pamps and the guys in there give good service!
