re: FAO Pete

I suggest you sister leaves work, school, home or wherever she is right now and heads to the nearest passport office in person as the passport needs to be valid for at 6 months from the time you leave Bulgaria.

Get her to get on her bike now - honest!!

re: FAO Pete

They will not let her into Bulgaria if she tries to travel on her current passport.
Her only option, if she still wants to go on holiday, is to pay the premium same day service where she will have to go to the nearest passport office in person and pay the £120 (about that).

re: FAO Pete

Well, if the embassy has confirmed that then it must be true. However, I do find that odd because a lot of countries apply the 6 month rule.

re: FAO Pete

I've just had to renew mine because of the 6 month rule. No one mentioned that this would not apply from 1st Jan, i.e. when BG joined the EU.

Good luck anyway and have a good one
