Hi There
I'm on the look out for a good skiing holiday late Feb 2009. I like the prices that bulgaria and borovets have to offer. Will this be suitable for us?? My son (who will be 4yrs) will be skiing for first time, myself and his dad have skiied many times in france before. We will have a young baby in tow too so intend to take turns on the slopes.
Any advice from seasoned family skiiers or anyone who knows this resort?
Thanks
We have 2 boys, and went to Borovets in March 07 (boys were 2yrs and 4yrs at the time), we stayed in a log cabin which was very nice, with underfloor heating but as it was the end of the season for them, non of the facilities at the resort we stayed at were open, which meant that we had to taxi in and out of town in the evenings, so staying in some of the new apartment suites in the town centre maybe a better option for you, especially with a young one.

As a first time holiday in Bulgaria for me and the boys it was great, but my partner had been to Bansko the year before and was a little disappointed (I have been to Basko this year and can see why).
Having said that the kids loved it! We found a good nursery/ski kindagarden, they took our 7yr old on 1 to 1 skiing sessions every day and both boys went swimming/sledging/walks in the snow. It only cost 90 Euro's for both boys for the week, and lunch was included. (It was located under the hotel Somokov - opposite the gondala and they operate the hours to fit around full day ski packages).
you could also try yagoda village which is about 2 km from main resort. we have stayed there twice and found it ok, but if you want a bit of variety with your food you will need to go into town at night via the courtesy bus.
Hi Sharon, you will find Pamporovo a great family resort and it has some very easy slopes to learn on. If you look on this site and type in Momchilovtsi on "holidays" you will find our place in the village which we rent out to skiers. It is a 15 min ride to the slopes Or Momchilovtsi has its own snow park with a couple of drag lifts. The park has a cafe and a hut with all the gear you need for a great days sking.
