Work will commence on the further upgrading of this discussion board in the next 10 days. This will be a long drawn out process as the board will be completely restructured.

It has been decided that both websites (BulgariaSki and BeachBulgaria) need a total overhaul and new and improved functionality. We are currently working now on a new website design of BulgariaSki.com together with new features and much more dynamic content. The new winter site will be up and running no later that Dec 1st 2010, ready for the start of the new skiing season.

BeachBulgaria.com will be upgraded during the coming winter and will have new designs and features no later than 1 May 2011.

In both cases it is important to have the "social networking" element developed to a very high level, because we firmly agree that the future of all websites such as these is based on a strong community of sensible people, who have similar interests. It means that we must have a full set of social networking tools and different rooms that our visitors can share about their holiday's in Bulgaria - general discussions, comments & reviews, videos, photos, instant reports from the pistes or other "tweets" from people who are at the resorts right now.

This will require a huge investment from the owners in order to upgrade the scripts and bring in new dynamic components. Hence the reason as to why it will take a while for all this to be completed.

To do all this the owners must look for additional sources of financing the new BulgariaSki/BeachBulgaria websites and that will include advertising, sales of t-shirts, other souvenirs, and even possibly donations from people who like what we are doing and would like to help out.

We also need to stimulate the independent travellers to visit and use our sites. (people who go on vacation by booking on the internet, not through tour operators) and strongly encourage them to book with us by offering a competitive and a far more comprehensive range of deals.

At the moment both websites are financed by some advertising and holiday bookings, but currently that is minimal and is certainly not enough to warrant the boards continuing under their current format. Much of this can be put down to fewer people travelling and less bookings because of the current financial state of many travellers.

So that's the latest news guys - I for one look forward to these changes and as always I will keep you posted of what changes will be made and when.

Regards

Pete

re: FURTHER CHANGES TO THIS SITE

Blimey Pete, I will have to learn hoe to "tweet", and I suppose learn what myspace and all the other things do.
The ability to text snow reports and lift queue status direct to the site would be excellent if thats possible!.
I am still discovering all the things my digital SLR will do, perhaps I should enrol on a night school course to teach me what all this modern technology can do, it is very useful I know, but sometimes there seems to be a new technology coming out each day.

Good to ...

Good to here that the site is moving forward, no doubt as a result of certain pressures put on it not long ago, well done to all those involved for taking the decision, i am sure a better site will lead to more visits and therefore ultimately reward the new advertisers with more custom.

Good luck to all involved.
