Hello everybody,
Long time lurker here having almost gone to Boro in Jan for a stag. Thanks for the regular updates last season - we ended up in Avoriaz which wasn't fantastic either.
I'm looking into an Easter holiday for 4 adults, an 8yo and 3yo twins ranging from a pretty good boarder to a complete beginner.
Would be great if the twins mum could have at least every morning or afternoon to learn how to ski without the others (me!) having to stay in with the little ones. I know certain French and Swiss resorts cater for this but the prices are ridiculous especially with the exchange rate as is.
Any advice would great.
hi snow hound if you pm me i can give you info on a nice 4 bedroomed self catering chalet close to borovets.it has great views of the slopes and access to an onsite spa and bistro.
Hi Snow Hound,
The big hotels each have a ski-kindergarten. They are a bit basic but would be ok for a few hours. These are open to non-residents adn I ave used both Samokov and Rila hotels. I preferred the Samokov Hotel's but that is only my opinion. There is a small ski-playground at the bottom of the Rila runs too. The restaurants are all pretty child friendly and the resort compact so not too much traipsing around for tired little legs at the end of the day. I hope this helps.

Rila & Samokov do have kindergartens, but based on people's experiences, we would only recommend the Borosport / Rila one. The twins would spend a couple of hours inside, lunch etc and then they get an hour or so on 'Boroland' - the small play area, where they get used to putting their ski's on, going on the 'magic' carpet etc. This play area is actually only for use for the children who have paid to be in the Rila Kindergarten. The costs are similar to a full child ski pack ...
Hi Snowhound,
Rila & Samokov do have kindergartens, but based on people's experiences, we would only recommend the Borosport / Rila one. The costs are similar to a full child ski pack and it includes their lunch. We know a number of people who work in the Rila one and they are all great with the children...
Your 8 year old, will have proper ski lessons and again you can arrange to meet him / her at lunchtime to check on them etc.
As of last year, all the restaurants became non-smoking, so again, this may put your mind at rest about children being in the restaurants.
If you want any more info about the resort etc then send me an email (click on my name) and I will try and help as much as I can! Can also give you the contacts to book kindergarten etc direct if you are doing a DIY holiday.
35degrees again here today....! Roll on the winter!!
