Fantastic Failsworth 40

If ever you needed an indication of how good a week this was you just had to look at the smile on Irish Mike's face. He is booked in to have this sugically removed later this week. The atmoshere generated by the resort and our excellent 40 was fantastic! Nearly as good as Earl Wakey's swallow dive over Lake Windermere on the home run. After 7 visits here things have changed ...mainly for the better. Example Hotel facilities 7 years ago were little better than a darkened cell in Rampton and a plate of vomit thrown at you for an evening meal. Now the food is adequate but lacking in variety. The Andorran speciality of Prawns in Bleach is sadly off the menu in Pamps. Lifts have improved especially the replacement 4 man at middle sta instead of single man. Information on lift closures can be improved but thats true for whole of Europe. Similarly for Pisting, every resort I've been to seem to make more of an effort at weekend for the local peasants rather than we tourists who without us the local economy would colapse. New carver skis looked good but service in depot was sh1te. Prices have gone up Irish bar at 6.5 lev for variable amout of fizzy p was the only place where Mike failed to smile. BJ's 3 lev (£1.11) and White Hart 2.5 lev (£0.92) I say hoooorah! Tim has just returned from Zermatt 7 Euro's (£4) for half a glass of shaving foam. The people have finally arrived in the real world (biggest change and most disappointing) they'll take your pants down every time (if you let them). The licensed bandits in yellow Lada's were easily the worst twice the took me to the White Hart via Plovdiv and various other Balkan states. Somehow I dont think Biff would let this happen????? We need to wise up too. Flights..... The flying Micro Wave (Tupolev 154) fuelled with Napalm was extreamly clean...........well certainly uncontaminated by beer, this has to go!
Ski rangers are now a real need, far too many peasants ( Friday especially) on two planks of tonge & groove thinking they're Herman Mier when they are more like Bambi on ice after a shot of speed! Very scary possibility of major accident. The resort has outgrown its facilities but this is still the best value for money fun loving reort I've been to. The number of familar faces of return visitors we saw last week is an indication as to how much fun this place is enjoyed. We will return maybe not next year but definately sometime soon! Hooooooorah!!!!!!

Well said HRH Treheeeeeva,

You should have seen the hovel we stayed in back in 1994 which was our "learn to Ski" holiday in the beautiful Pamporovo. (Which is now the beautifully refurbished Mourgavetz). But then it was a Country only just out of communism so you really couldn't expect any more than what they gave.

Absolutely M'Lady, in those days they would just change the straw and muck out once a week if we were lucky (is this turning into the 4 Yorkshiremen sketch)?
