February 8th - snow reassurance

Hi there. I'm coming out on feb 8th for a week on my own. I realise there hasn't been loads of snow this year but from what I've read the snow this week has helped alittle with the slopes that are open. I'm a bit concerned as from what I've read the temperature at borovets is going to be 8 degrees every day when I'm there. So I'm worried what little snow there is is going to melt. Hopefully the pistes higher up will still be ok as the temp will be lower. I've only been skiing twice before ...

I just want to be able to practice my ski technique, enjoy the scenery and have a few beers. I've been down reds before, but think first day i might just try a few blues and see how it goes. I've seen videos of yastrabets this year in jan when the snow was meant to be bad and it still looks ok, maybe compact snow. Hopefully the yastrabets will still be open, I realise some of it is closed.

Hi - I came out for a week on my own in March 2013 to learn to ski - it was 15 degrees then but still managed even though in the afternoon it was getting very slushy. I'm off out on the 8th next week and think the snow will be much better and will still be good if they have the snow cannons on like they have had all this week due to the lower temperatures.

re: February 8th - snow reassurance

Thanks for that. I imagine it might be slushy at the bottom but it was in Austria when I went in march. I've read the night time temperatures are still very cold so the snow cannons will be working well, I've read they've only got six though and only on the main blue run into village, not sure if that's correct. Although no more snow is predicted I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Long range weather forecasts can change a bit.

1 of the reds on yastrebets will be closed for race preparation the whole time you are there . leaving 3 runs open on one of the busiest weeks of the season . dont buy a ski pass buy a weekly ticket to one of the brothels in the woods .
