A funny thing happened last Jan in Borovets, thought I'd tell ya.... maybe you were there and saw it?!
Our Borovets ski instructor George took us learners down the 5K green run (the road) which crosses over a couple of red runs. A funny thing happened last Jan in Borovets, thought I'd tell ya.... maybe you were there and saw it?!
Our Borovets ski instructor George took us learners down the 5K green run (the road) which crosses over a couple of red runs. Some of the learners were a bit scared crossing coz you have to be careful not to go over the edge or be hit by someone coming down fast. There was another group of learners in the way and we couldn't get through so George skiid up to them and as he passed he tapped one of em on their leg woth his stick so they'd move out the way. The other group's instructor saw it and took a great offence to it. He started an arguement with George and before we knew it the pair of em were throwing their gloves off and desperately tring to get their skis off. They ended up wrestling in the snow as we all stood with our gobs wide open then they went off the edge and started sliding down the red! It fizzled out when they were bith knackered and they came climbing back up like weary snowmen! It was like a comedy sketch, hilarious! The story went round the whole resort. Every time we passed the other group the instructors would shout abuse at each other in Bulgarian.
George was our hero, we bought him some fags and socks!

lol loved the story!, in my second year in Borovets i caught my frontside edge and crashed head first into 2 ski-iers, our instructor burst into laughter and shouted "20 points" much to the annoyance of the ski group i hit haha.re: Fighting on the piste
Last year in Bansko we were skiing home down the ski road. There was a local guy (i presume) skiing with a massive dog on a lead which was semi pulling him along. I stopped when i heard a massive yelp. I turned round to see this guy knocking seven bells out of the dog!! I was too far down to go back up to stop him but an instructor pulled up beside him and gave him a good talking to. Couldnt believe it! Think his excuse was that the dog ran in his way!!!! HAHA as Ian W said earlier, It could only happen in Bulgaria!I would have put a saddle on it and rode it down the ski road, or is that a little cruel...hmmmm

Last year our Snowbaord instructor tunred up wiht two huge black eyes and badly bruised nose. It turns out he had been fighting with another instructor who had stolen his woman !I think we are too British, these guys sort it out and then get on with it. If it happened here we'd all be in court, fined, suspended sent', ASBO's, public order, anything else the solicitors can make money off.
