Good Afternoon everyone.
Back at work today after a week boarding in Pamporovo.
Me and 4 mates stayed in the Hotel Murgavets, fantastic hotel, fabulous facilities, anyone off there will not be disappointed. Unless of course they are planning on eating in the barbecue restaurant at about 21:00 as that is the time the man with the inflatable sheep arrives (traditional bulgarian music, kind of like the bagpipes but more screechy) even with this though the food was brilliant.
Found the weather reports to be completely useless, it snowed when it said it would rain and it snowed when it said it would be sunny.
A couple of guys in my group hired equipment from the Snow Shack guys, I would highly recommend them to anyone, these guys are the most helpful people you could hope to meet, even after hiring us the equipment every time we meet them on the slopes they were more than happy to offer us free tips and advice, their snow board school is also well worth a look.
Overall we had a brilliant time, unfortunately myself and one other person had an unfortunate experience with a very poor drag lift which resulted in us missing a days boarding... The drag lifts on a couple of the slopes are complete rubbish, novices and even hardened boarders/skiers that have never used one of these before were finding that it was causing problems.
It will not detract however from the otherwise excellent slopes and well maintained snow.
Anyone travelling there soon will not be disappointed.

It was the lift which has handles attached to a cable.
The cable continually runs around a large powered wheel at the bottom of the slope and up to another jockey wheel at the top.
Other than these two wheels the cable is free to run along on the snow.
The problem encountered by most people who were failing to use this lift with ease was that it pulled you from a standing position, this put a lot of strain on the arms and caused people to let go as soon as they started to move.
Also the cable could move from left to right with reletive ease allowing people to wander up the slope and as they became unstable they would fall over, this falling over caused the cable to be pulled down to the ground, therefore pulling all other users onto the floor also.
There is another lift on this slope and it is a pomma lift (I think this is correct) which you put between your legs and it pulls you up, this lift was not too bad.
