First Day Ski Hire

Hi, can anyone help - we've booked ski hire thru Thomson and I remember a few years ago the first day was a nightmare at the bottom of the gondola - everyone who had arrived the night before was in a queue to get their gear at 9am on Sunday morning - it took us about an hour to get to the front of the queue.

Is this better organised now can anyone tell me? If not, what time do we need to be there to get our kit without faffing around in a massive queue.

Also are there any lockers at the bottom of the gondola so each day you can throw your kit in there then grease your sneakers and jog on?

Thanks in advance.
Cool

re: First Day Ski Hire

If you're in a group, get one of them to go to queue and bag a place whilst another of you goes to get the vouchers off the rep - although we've just arrived back, used Borosport at the bottom of the Rila again, this was the same bedlam last time - no queue at just after 9am!!

re: First Day Ski Hire

You get given your vouchers off the rep during transfer to hotel. Big queues in depots. They start at 8.30 and fit out schools first. They are very organised.

re: First Day Ski Hire

Depends what resort and what tour operator Tracy - our welcome meeting which we didn't attend as been to Boro before was where you got your passes from Crystal - we just dropped in to ask for what we needed and got to the depot before the queues formed. Didn't see any distinction between those with ski school or not, just one queue forms and you work your way to the front of it.

Thanks, yea Bansko. So I'll plan to get the vouchers on the transfer coach and be at the bottom of the Gondoss for 08:30.

re: First Day Ski Hire

Went to Bansko half term week, booked through Thompson, rep gave out lift passes ski/boot hire passes on coach. Fitting for boots etc. took place at depot no.3 on Sunday Morning from 8.30am. Am assuming as question was asked about Bansko and same travel company this would be standard procedure.

Sorry Tracy -couldn't see Bansko anywhere in the original message, just didn't want someone to have wrong info if they were off to a different resort
