First Day at Bansko Gondola

Would i be right in thinking that as we are heading out on a Sunday our first morning to get all gear fitted etc and up the mountain will not be quite as hectic seeing as most of the big tour operators have Sat as their changeover day. We go 18th Feb - i've got 2 teens and 8 yr old and i've heard horror stories. Worried that 15yr daughter will be so fed up she'll throw her usual teenage strop .... but then there's always the ski instructor ... poor guy!

Im on the understanding that the 1st morning is hectic (most people seem to be going sat to sat, so looks like that is the change over day), therefore, sundays will be the busiest as people will be measuring up to get right equipment
Hopefully it wont take too long. (wake up early and get 1st in teh queue!)
sure u will have a great time

I went Christmas week with Crystal and there were no queues at all, it was the easiet ski fitting I have ever had. think it depends on the day/tour operator/etc

re: First Day at Bansko Gondola

Hi Fi
Am in Bansko right now.
Sunday morning was chaotic. We're with Crystal and were told to pick up our pre-hired gear from a marquee behind the gondola lift.
We got there about 9am think that'd be plenty of time to get to our lessons at 10 (inc the 20 min gondola ride).
At 10.25 we were still in the queue for skis after having boots done, For me this was the (currently) only hassle we've had. The next day was no problem and none since.
My advice is get to your ski hire place on ...

My advice is get to your ski hire place on the dot as it opens. Miss brekkie of you must! This was you'll avoid the crowds.
I don't think numbers of people was the issue per se. It's that there was no organisation (eg sign for the skis desks, sign for the boots etc) and it was a bit of a free for all - people pushing in etc.
