First Timers @ Hotel Lion

Hi All Smile

My Partner and I, her son and his cousin are coming to Boro on Feb26th - Staying at the Hotel Lion.

We are first time skiers and would just like some general pointers / advice about what to look out for and do during our stay.

We are staying at the Hotel Lion and understand its a little way out of the resort. Are we talking round the corner or is it a 20 minute walk?

We are staying at the Hotel Lion and understand its a little way out of the resort. Are we talking round the corner or is it a 20 minute walk?

We've heard mixed rumours about the nightlife. Lisa's son and his cousin are 16/17. Is there a large sex presence in the town? or is it more a case of there are a couple of lap dancing bars?

Does anyone have any 'must do' tips? ie skidooing, or eating in a certain restaurant? we are half board but understand the food isn't always great in the hotels.

Any responses will be much appreciated. I have been browsing the forum for a couple of days now and have been taking notes lol

Thanks
Simon

hi simon,

at a guess i think 20min walk is about right for the lion, depending on ice and snow underfoot, make friends with a taxi driver and discuss rates, ( say your there for a week), get his tel no,

there are 4 or 5 lap dancing bars in resort but the business stays inside, ive never seen anything around the streets, bars or hotels, nothing to worry about!!

the skidooing is great and 1/3 of the cost compared to france, austria

i try to eat most meals in the hotel ( none are good on food!!) but sometime pop into the white magic pub/resturant, bottom of high street on the left, opposite the samomkov hotel, the guy who owns it is a great charater, use to ski race, the food is fab

with inghams last year on day of departure did the sofia trip as flight not till 10pm!! was worth doing, a really interesting guide

buy hemets, the slopes can get busy!!

have a great time and pray for more snow!!
