First day getting hire boots, leave trainers or take back to hotel?

Hi All,

We go to Pamporovo this coming Saturday!

5 of our group are going to be hiring snowboard boots + boards. First day they’ll obviously get to the hire shop in their trainers and will change.

Then is it best to take their trainers and boots back to the hotel after the first day, In Bansko one of our group had their trainers stolen after leaving them in a hire shop for just one day.

I was going to advise them to probably leave their hire boards in the shop each night ...

I was going to advise them to probably leave their hire boards in the shop each night but to keep their boots with them (dry them out at the hotel if needed etc) and to take their trainers back to the hotel on the first day and then just travel to the hire shop in their snowboard hire boots in the mornings

Does that sound right or do the hire shops ask that you leave all the hire stuff back with them each night, or can they take the boards and boots back to the hotel like I’ll be doing with my own stuff

thanks
Dave

Boy, someone would sure get a rough deal if they pinched my husbands trainers! They reek.

Why not take all the gear; board and boots back to hotel ski locker each evening, might be an idea to take a small cable lock if your stopping in a bar on the way home Booze

yea we might well do that!

Just wondered what the situation was with footwear

I guess we could leave the trainers at the hire place just for the first day then take them back with us after that along with the hire gear!

be unlucky to have a pair stolen after leaving them in the shop for just 5-6 hours

Day 1 - take all you need to the Malina and pick up your hire gear. You will be shown where to store your gear at the end of each day. At the end of Day 1 store your gear, and get back into your trainers etc. Take everything back to your room that you do not need at the slopes for the rest of the week.

I cannot say nothing will be stolen if you leave it at the Malina as nothing is certain in this world anymore, but in 20 odd years of using these facilities I have never had anything stolen ...

We've always left our stuff at Interski - not just hire stuff but our own ski's etc too and never had a problem. Everything beautifully dry and ready for us.

my family and myself went skiing at christmas and left all the ski stuff at hire centre next to slopes, had no problems and my ski stuff is about £500 pounds but still came home with it .ps dont take expensive trainers to leave at hire shop during the day.

I have to say I also think the ski depot at Malina and Interski are both safe as houses in my opinion. I leave all my stuff at Interski every night after skiing including ski boots and gloves, goggles and the like never a problem actually its a bonus as when I get there to get changed at the end of a day skiing Pete is always there with a glass of wine or a beer to help me chill Booze Booze
