Hi Folks
I was wondering if you could me a bit of a heads up on our first family ski trip to Borovetz, we leave Gatwick on the !st Feb and I wondered if anyone would give a few tips.
We are a family of five, my wife and I have skied before (but it was a few years ago) we have three children aged 17,18,and 20 who have never had skies on their feet, we are staying at the Hotel Lion and have lessons booked for the first 4 days.
Any little tips would be greately appreciated on

Nothing to worry about, you will all have an amazing time. I have been to Borovets 8 times and going again in 6 weeks.
The schools are all set up for the beginners, they are good and patient. With in 2 days they will be on top of the mountain. Once they get the bug they will be back every year.
Eating and drinking is amazing, the resort is compact and everything you need is near by.
Agree with Heapster Nick, I was 23 1st time I went and loved it, almost 20 years ago now!! Prices are still ridiculously cheap, for food and drink and there are plenty of great places in such a small are resort to choose from. The kids will love it, plenty of bars and clubs open really late!! Skiing is amazing, great runs for both beginners and more advanced skiiers. instructors are great and will make good skiers out of anyone in a week! Sure you'll all have an amazing time. There's always ...

There's always a forum gathering in Bobbys bar on the Sunday night where you'll be made welcome from the minute you walk in and be introduced to everyone. Enjoy!
The lion is a great place to stay(stayed there the last 2 times ) very warm good size rooms pool a little cold but you soon get used to it ! Saunas ok but usually full of Russians who seem to live in there!! Lol
Food is good , buffet selection for all meals so you should find something you like .
Free wifi in the bar and restaurants has good signal

Only negative is the distance from village centre for evening entertainment , hotel used to run a free bus in the evenings into village but think the realised how much revenue they where losing so you have to either walk or taxi , the later are plentiful and cost around 10 lev each way .
Sure you'll have a great time as said in previous replies the ski schools are very good and you'll all soon be on top of the mountain .
Have great time I'll miss you by a week as not out till 8th !!
