I am going to Pamporovo for the New year with hubbie and 9 year old son staying in the Perelik. Has anyone got any tips for us and also info on the hotel? Will the 9 year old be able to join our learn to ski or wll he be in a kids group? All advice greatly received. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

We went here as first timers 5 years ago, me, my 13yr old lad and 10yr old lass, stayed in the Perelik and we had an amazing time have been back to Bulgaria every year since, although now Borovets our favorite. We were all put into the same ski beginners class along with about 10 others of mixed nationality and ages, one young Bulgarian lad joined us whilst his parents did their own thing, Tanya was our instructor and was very patient and lovely. Hotel a bit dated and our room didn't have a bath which I have insisted on having since, as ached all over everyday. Loads to do in the evenings, bowling, pool, swimming etc... Hotel has underground shopping street. Bell boys can be fun but annoying nice souveniur, not seen them at other resorts. Bus stop not far and an expereince in itself, I suppose that they know what they are doing. We boycotted the macdonalds on the slopes as it looked so out of place, don't know if its still there. Food in hotel adequate not sure what all of it was but we didn't go to Pamporova for the food. You'll have a fantastic time.

Hi Di, welcome to the forum. Pamps is a great little resort and I am sure you will have a blast. Perelik is nice enough not sure if it has had a refurb this year?

Your 9 year should be able to join your group providing you are of similar ability. I would recommend eating out a couple of times if you can you will be amazed at the difference from hotel food(whilst not bad it is not fantastic) Try the BBQ place in the Mourgavets hotel which is joined by underground walkway to the Perelik ...

Went 1st time in 2006, our 8 year old was in the same learn to ski group as us (although she is now far better than us!). You should be OK and have a blast, enjoy!
