First time skiing and first time in Pamporovo - help!
Hello,
I was hoping to get some advice about Pamporovo / skiing.
Myself and three others will be heading over from 11th-16th February (for my 25th birthday !!) None of us have ever been skiing before so of course we would be looking for tuition, equipment hire, lift pass etc. If anyone has any recommendations on the best hire company / instructors that would be very helpful. Myself and three others will be heading over from 11th-16th February (for my 25th birthday !!) None of us have ever been skiing before so of course we would be looking for tuition, equipment hire, lift pass etc. If anyone has any recommendations on the best hire company / instructors that would be very helpful. Also, whilst looking at Bulgaria ski and their 'Learn To Ski' package they do 4 hours of tuition per day and we were wondering whether we can still use the equipment after those 4 hours to practice on the slopes on our own for a bit or will we need to return it once the 4 hours are over?
We have already booked our flights from Gatwick but that is it so far! Can anyone recommend the best hotel / apartments to stay in so we are close to everything? We would prefer to be closer to the slopes than the clubs. We had looked at the Kamelia Aparthotel however we had a nightmare booking through the website and when we could finally speak to someone on the phone they informed us that they were full booked for our dates! Does anyone know what the Evridika is like?
If anyone has any other tips / advice on anything else I would be extremely grateful.

Hi Holly my name is Gary from Swindon. Firstly, please excuse my profile photo !! We've been to Pamporovo over 10 times.
We have a friend Tony (Anton Yankov) who is a ski instructor with Slavi Ski School which down at Malina.
Some of our group are renting skis and boots from them. I thinks its 15 per day so £40 for the week.
We are staying in the Orlovets, which i believe to be the best hotel in the resort
Everything is close within resort.

I'm not sure about buying lift passes there as we always get ours with the package.
Tony speaks great English, I've known him for about 13 years.
I think their group tuition for 4 is 30 lev about £13 per person per hour or private lessons are 45 lev £19.50 per person per hour. If you have private you are not standing aroud like with ski school waiting for everyone to to their thing one at a time.
We fly out Sat 7th Feb so will be there when you arrive.
Sat 14th Feb is the start of half term so Sun 15th will be extremely busy I'm guessing.
If you would prefer to talk please private message me on Facebook and I will send you my phone number. As I'm typing this I'm thinking, god I sound like a stalker!
I think I'm the only Gary Ruby Murray on FB if not my profile pic is one with my wife kissing me, I'm wearing glasses with a moustache.
If not, i hope some of this informartion has been helpful. We have a party of 12 going out this year including our 2 grand children. Cant wait.

Hi Holly,
we have been to pamps now for about 7 times. Stayed in Orlovets, Murgavets, Perelik and more recently Markony.
The Markony for us is by far the best in town and THE closest hotel to the Slopes !! It isn't in the main town which means no bus rides to the ski lifts but that does means you are a taxi ride into Pamporovo night life...

Hi Holly,
Well welcome to the board - and welcome to skiing !!!
Hopefully like many on here you will love Pamporovo and return year after year.
I can't disagree with any of the advice you've been given as it is all sound and good.
I would say though, at 25 you probably want a bit of nightlife and evening action whilst

centre. If you want to be where the main action is the Perelik/Orlovetz/Snezhanka are all hotel
in the right area. I would also recommend you choose the Learn To Ski packs offered by many
of the tour companies as they will include all your equipment, lift pass, storage and tuition.
You could also contact Snow White who is a regular on here and can supply you all you need.

Hi Holly and welcome to the board.
Of course you can keep your ski equipment after the lessons - it will be allocated to you for the full week so you can practise to your hearts content.
Lots of great suggestions above and any of the town centre apartments would probably suit you best as they all have ski buses that will take you quickly and easily down to the ski centre for your lessons and to collect your ski equipment every day.
