First time skiing

Me, my partner and 5 of our friends are coming to Borovets on the 23rd February and we are staying in the Iglika Palace hotel. Some of the group have never been skiing before and all of us have never been to Borovets. I have heard mixed reviews about Borovets on the internet but after finding this discussion forum I now know we will have a great time and a great laugh. We are all hoping for plenty of snow which I check the webcams and weather forecast daily whilst also reading the Borovets conditions daily page.

Can’t wait to get to Borovets!! Only 45 days to go not that I am counting Smile

re: First time skiing

Hi Lewis,

You will have a great time. There are plenty of good places to go to eat/drink/relax, with Bobby's being top of our list.

The snow should be great at the end of Feb (I hope so - we are out on the 2nd March!) and there is plenty of variety for beginners.

All the best

Jez

Thanks for the reply Jez.

The Snow looks great now but hoping for more by the time we arrive Very Happy (being greedy). We go back on the 2nd of March Sad.

We are staying half board and I am planning to change 150 pounds. I understand you can get good rates getting money out from the cash machines which i intend to do also.

Thanks,
Lewis

re: First time skiing

Agreed, best rates are had from the cash points but your bank may charge a transaction fee so best to try and take out what you need in one go

re: First time skiing

I use the cash machines, even with the small bank charge you'll get a much better rate than changing it back home in the UK. Just remember to take large chunks of money not little bits otherwise the bank charges will rack up.
300 lev is £110ish if i remember right from last year
