Hi all, a lively discussion board, any tips for a first timer at Borovetts?
A few questions
Friendly people?
Skiing for a relatively inexperienced skier?
What's the exchange rate like?
Any top tips that will help me enjoy my stay.
1. The people are very friendly, especially when spending money in their establishments!
2. You will find the skiing as challenging as you wish, lots of greens and blues.
3. Exchange rate is about 2.6-2.7 to £, most instructors waiters etc will change for a better rate that the change booths, never change your money with a stranger in the street. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.
Havn't been to Boro, so don't know what the Kids entertainment is like. From what I have read in other postings, it seems quite good. As far as the bars are concerned, NO problem taking the kids in. I think they must be out by 10:00 am the next morning for the skiing lessons.
Paul just got back yesterday from Boro.
I was a first time skier, and i was fine!! Had a good instructor and we were doing red runs on the 4th day!! Drink plenty of hot choc brandys and have no fear!!
I loved every minute of it!!
Don't change money in the hotels, as you only get 2.5. On the streets you can get 2.7 and you don't need your passport.
As for being ripped off, just be careful and you'll be fine!!
I never got ripped off by anyone, at least i don't think i did!!

there are loads of begginner classes so you dont need to worry about being the only 1. after a week you will be on the top of the mountain, trust me.
the best places to go out to are 'franko's pizza' its excelent, the manager tommy mcgreedy is really cool and gives out free drinks sometimes. and 'the blu' is a good place to go 2.
