Group of 8 of us (4 adults,4 kids) going to pamps in about 3 weeks..
All of similar standard, will we all be in the same group or will we get split up if some of us develop quicker than others ?
Booked learn to ski package with Balkan, will that mean we have limited use of lifts or can we go anywhere if we take to it quickly (thinking of my 12 year old here, not me!!!)
You will have a wonderful time
Skied with familly last year for first time
They take you through basics on the first day and then adjust the groups
Our group was spot on
depends on ages of children and ability of everyone
You can request to stay together but I would use their judgement
Our instructor also arrange to meet up with another group at lunchtimes - it usually worked! Do not worry it will all fall intoplace once you get there just enjoy!
Sorry ski pass covers all in pamps
Have to go to work now will pick up thread later and make sure all your questions are answered I am sure they will be
oh and by the way dont forget to add I CAN'T WAIT (a site joke!)
First of all you will be asked to declare your 'standard'...eg real beginner, beginner to intermediate etc ...this usually takes place at the base of the chairlift. You will segregated into 'loose' groups - usually most families and friends stick together at this stage.
Once you have had a couple of hours skiing , you will be given a 'test' on the first day around about lunchtime - so be prepared!. A team of instructors will be waiting around a hillside and you will all ski toward them ...

Based on that performance you will be assigned your groups for the rest of the week.
We had no problem when we were there last time with too much queueing at the 'Balkan' chairlift - wasn't too crowded or limiting....once you're up there it's great!!
wow king blade I was concentrating on not falling over so hard I never realised there was a test!
Our group was tweaked on the 2nd moring though
Really must go to work!
Hi was in Pamps in Jan no test for us, we were put in group and left in the group even though there was varying levels of skiing/falling etc. Snow conditions on the pistes were quite poor at the time so wether or not that had any bearing on this. Third day on the green run with one of our group only just able to remain upright. really difficult with large icy patches and the road showing through in places. Third day on the green run with one of our group only just able to remain upright. really difficult with large icy patches and the road showing through in places. I was quite confident until I went on the piste, turned a sharp bend hit a patch of ice and could'nt stop. We did have grat time though and i think if the conditions were better it would have been a lot easier. Apres Ski good too
