Flights.

Just got back from Pamps, had a great 10 days skiing for 9 of them. Due to the unpredicatable snow conditions, may next year leave it and book a last minute flight about a week before to make sure there is snow. Only need flight as have apartment. Has anyone else done this? Is it recomended and also what sort of prices do you pay( I know it wont be as cheap)?

re: Flights.

out of experience you will not get a cheap late flight from budget airlines such as easyjet, or wizzair. Maybe the tour companies, but i doubt it. We booked june last year with wizzair for flights 1st feb just gone. They were £60 return each inc taxes, but a week before we flew they were £330 return.
We have been trying over the last four years for different ways to get the cheapest prices but have now realised that the earlier you book (i.e. the day they are released) the cheaper it is. ...

Yep good old Wizz out of Luton got bargain flights for this March but you do have to book early. Both Easyjet and Wizz winter flights normally go on sale 6 months in advance.

re: Flights.

As Kevin and Daniel have said - if you want a cheap flight then you do need to decide in advance where you are going and get it booked up. More and more people are travelling independently (myself included) and I tell you, folks watch the flight sites like a hawk to grab a deal pretty much the day they are released. The minute they are released and seats start being taken the prices rise and fairly rapidly. I know because I tested it this year just to see what happened with prices and ...

I go with Easyjet.

re: Flights.

Thanks for the info. We went with Easyjet this year just over £100 which was good booked it 6 month ago.

I'm worried about the lack of snow and getting there to find none hence booking late.

Keep checking a website like www.opodo.co.uk

They will show you available flights on Bulgaria Air, BA, etc and there can be some cheap ones in there.

I booked for this February half term (only 3 sleeps to go YAAY!) last March, paid £160 a head including ski carriage, boot bags (they are free on Bulgaria Air).

I worried that maybe I should have waited, but when Wizzair released their flights they were about the same price, but not including ski carriage, and easyjet was more ...

I worried that maybe I should have waited, but when Wizzair released their flights they were about the same price, but not including ski carriage, and easyjet was more expensive before you even started adding on luggage etc.

Saying that, if you aren't tied in to school holidays there are some reasonable deals around.
