Flying to Bansko on 17th Jan with the Family and need help with Ski School, Equipt Hire and Transferes
I'm looking for Ski school for myself and my 8 year old son for 5 days, just morning lessons so we can spend the afternoons with the rest of the family and friends.
Should I be booking in advance for the ski school, and order Boots,Ski and Pole hire together with ski school. We also need lift passes for 2 adults and 2 children should these also be booked in advance.
And finally I still haven't organised the transfers, what is the cheapest options available, I guess coach but would ...

We booked a complete ski package( lessons, hire and passes through snow and trail, they were excellent.
We used motoroads.com for our transfer.
They were excellent also, the driver was there to meet us and arrived on time for our return trip.
we are a family of 5 and we travelled in an 8 seater ,so plenty of room for us and cases.
We paid 170 euros for return trip.
Hope this helps

Why do so many families take their children out of school to save a few pounds on the price of a holiday?
New Year, Half Term and Easter should be the time for school children to take their winter breaks. It amazes me how some parent minds work!! A Childs education over saving a few pounds!

I have two Children and take them skiing, and have done for many years but they have never miss a day’s school – while I agree skiing broadens the mind - it also broadens the mind when you go during appropriate holiday periods! I agree that holiday companies exploit the school holiday period but we knew that when we had our children – it’s called market forces.

Next week at our local prep school - it is the first week of the 11plus tutorials (we live in Lincolnshire and are lucky enough to have Grammar schools) not the greatest week to take your children out of school!
Perhaps work a little harder and get a better paid job and think about your children’s education ahead of your own financial situation.

Ouch! Now now folks calm down! Personally I don't see the problem takin kids out for just one week if that child is clever enough to be able to catch up... At 8 I agree won't miss much at this time of year especially... If they were going to miss something vitally important or if it was GCSE year then yes I would disagree but to suggest work harder and earn more money is very harsh especially given today's climate with many people not even getting a rise!

I was taken out of junior school for a couple of weeks aged 10 for a hol and it did me no harm... I have two degrees and i'm a qualified teacher. For various reasons I decided to rethink my career options but one of those reasons was definitely the over-inflated holiday prices in school hols... It's not a small amount but rather usually doubles the cost of what is essentially the same holiday but busier.
I totally understand why people do it. We'd all love to earn more money but that really wasn't called for.
